January 2007
The Flypaper
Okay we are gonna start off a New Year, but first we need to remember what we did last year. 90 + members, 2 great cars shows, a B-B-Q or two, several trophies!, The Camp Out at the Canyon and then a wonderful Christmas Party Oh Yeah, we had a little FUN too!! Might have to take a break this year and relax for awhile, oops, that is what winter is for. As someone said years ago, On With The Show! Hey Keenan, maybe you should use that as a trivia question at this years B-B-Q!
Meeting Notes:
Wes called the meeting to order as usual, But NO Guests! Just the usual suspects and they were pretty thin too. Not a whole lot of stuff to discuss, but we did have elections and Larry gave his report on upcoming things.
Oregon Garden Show Feb 3rd
Albany Swap Meet Jan 13th
Canby Hi-Pro Swap Meet Jan 14th
Portland Roadster Show Mar 2-4
Goodguys in Puyallup July 27th
Larry also read a letter from Nicky’s grandson about a trip to Australia and requesting assistance with raising funds to make it happen. MSP to give Zach Moore the clubs half of the 50/50 which was $71.00.
Old Business:
Wes gave a short report about his and Nicki’s trip to Hawaii. The X-Mas party was reported by many to have been great, even Ronnie like it! The upcoming couch racing season is almost on us and DW & Ronnie are in high gear getting ready for the Homer Classic.
December being the annual meeting, elections were held for Officers of The Club. There were no more nominations so the vote was held for the contested positions, that being V.P. and Sgt. Of Arms. Your newly elected officers are:
President Wes Oster Vice President Chuck DeGuire
Sec-Treas Rand Breitbach Sgt.of Arms Rod Wymore
P.R. Dude Larry Brown
There was some discussion about why the woman did not get to vote. They had never voted in prior years. Looks like this will be discussed at the January meeting.
New Business:
Wes handed out his annual "Outstanding Member Award" to Gilbert Arevalo!! Congratulations Jillbeer!!!! We continued the discussion about a Club trailer and Wes appointed Bob Schmidt and Bill Breitbach to head up a committee to look into Club needs, etc. Hopefully a report at the January meeting.
Someone remind someone else that Glen has started setting up the Joseph Run that is coming up June 8-9. He has 25 room reservation in Enterprise under Glen Green or the Flywheels. And as usual, Glen will have his B-B-Q at his place in Alfalfa on Thursday the 8th.
Wes received the 2007 Run Calendar books and started to hand them out at the December meeting better make sure to make the next meeting if you wish to get one. I think he only ordered 75! Remember we had 90+ members last year!! And last but not least Gilbert also won the 50/50 $71.00!
Wes’s Corner:

Well two new ones and three old ones anyway. Looking forward to working with them. Would like to say a BIG "THANK YOU" to Bob Noble and Brian Littlefield for ALL the years they have given "The Club." BUT! knowing them as well as I do they will still be right there with THAT helping hand. Thanks guys again. Wes
