The Flywheels Car Club - August 2006
Homer Show:
Okay, we did it! Survived another Homer Show without much scaring. 114 Cars/Trucks/etc. Showed up and didn’t complain about the $10.00 one little bit. Down a snick from the past couple of years, but who cares, we had fun!! Must have been some other shows, etc. going on. The ladies hauled in $230.00 for the Club with their excellent 50/50 sales. Oh yeah, one of the guest walked off with their half too!! Signed up a couple of new members while I was standing around watching everyone else work. That was cool, THANKS everyone for helping out with the registration table!! Wes even introduced me to the newest member from a far away island. Is New Zealand an island or a continent? Hmmmm. Actually, who really cares, we got the money!!As in previous shows, this year was no exception for the quality of cars that show up here. We just keep getting the really neat stuff to stop by.
Note from Larry!!
My sincere thanks for the help with the raffle at the Homer show. You gave away some very nice prizes. We had over 50 to give away. Larry
GREAT WHITE NORTH
Here it is August already and half of the Summer car runs are over, but the Flywheels still have our big car show in September, which makes it kind of a "one last fling of the Summer". The Flywheels had their "Bar-B-Q at Bobs" in July and it was a big hit with the members as always. I have say this here and now "THANKS BROTHER BOB" for your as usual great hospitality my friend. The bloody Merry maker ( Drew) was at the Bar-B-Q and his craft is equaled by no one. If you have had one of his Bloody Merry's you know why your Prez. (Wes) made Drew the Flywheels official Bloody Merry maker. Drew has won the Prez.'s seal of excellence for his Bloody Merry's and is the personal Bloody Merry maker for the Abbett of the Brother Hood.
The dash plaques for the Bar-B-Q were one of the best that Keenan and Jan have come up with, and that is saying something as they just get better and better. How they can out do themselves year after year is beyond me, thanks Keenan & Jan. Keenan did his usual trivia game and gave out some cool prizes to the winners, and it went over great and was fun as always.
Now I have to tell you of something that went on at the Bar-B-Q that was not very pretty. One of the "Brothers of the Seven day Seductionists" was put on trial for actions unbecoming of a member of the Brother Hood. It was a bad thing to watch as Brother Glenn stood before the UN-Honorable, easily bribed, Judge of the 5th Kangaroo Court of Australia, Judge Al Dozler. Brother Glenn was defended by Brother Bill rather Admiralty I might say considering Bill was the one who brought the charges against Glenn in the first place. Glenn fired Bill half way through the trial and replaced him with a whole lot better looking Attorney, one that our Prez got for Glenn. It was all to no avail as Judge Dozler was not easily swayed, (someone said the bribe was not big enough) and found him guilty as charged. But never fear Boy & Girls Brother Glenn’s lovely lawyer, after a lot of Rum and some of her special persuasion, has convinced the Abbett to except Glenn's appeal of his conviction, this reporter see's a complete pardon coming Glenn's way at or before the Winter Solstice parity in December.
If you haven't went to one of the clubs Bar-B-Q's at Bob's you've missed one of the things that makes this car club the one to belong to, lots of fun/food/and friends, and it don't get any better then that. That is all for now from the Great White North, and as hot as it is up here this month I may have change the name to the Great Brown North. Edd
