The One, The Only, FLYPAPER!!!

Oh, November 2005

Meeting stuff:

Hey, another good meeting. Had 40 plus members present and even a few guests. Not a whole lot of fliers to discuss, but we did talk a lot about the Roadster Show. More later. Wes gave a big thanks to everyone that helped out at the Macleay Show. About the only complaint was Too Much Dust. Also, next year will be the 20th year for Macleay. We need to do something special. Christmas Party Dec 10th, again, more from Edd later.

THE GREAT WHITE NORTH

I think that you will have fun at the club Christmas party on Dec. 10 just remember to make reservation's if you plan on eating before the club party.

If you have a "SPECIAL" gift that you would love to give to someone, but don't want to take the heat for giving it bring it. "The Brotherhood" will be glad to give it to that special person for you as they don't mind P.O. anyone. They will have some gifts and surprises at their "end of the year pageant" right after the club party, so hang around to see them in action. They love to drink a little rum and get as non political correct as possible.

So join the Abbett, Bro. Bill, (from the dark side) and Bro. Glenn at their "End of the Year Pageant" have a laugh or two, and just maybe they will have a gift for you. The Brothers will be there to help you with anything you might need, you can ask about our marriage license good for only one night, or the divorce also good for only one night. We have no legal right to grant them but, what the hell, give us some rum or $$$ and we will do most anything. See you Dec. 10

Now Glenn is talking about doing some gift exchange idea. Everyone that wants to participate needs to bring an wrapped $10.00 adult type gift to be part of the game.

Portland Roadster Show
The club is planning for a club display at the Portland Roadster Show in March 3rd, 4th, 5th, 2006. The theme for the show is "Be A Part Of History". The current plan is for the club to make a display with a drive-in movie theater theme. I didn't get a good count of hands at the last meeting, but I'm guessing there were 15 to 20 members that want to show off their rigs. We have heard that one club has already committed to bringing 50 vehicles to the show, so the more we get, the merrier. The plan is for all members who want to be in the show to meet at the Silverton Super Service Station on our second Saturday get together on November 12th (usually starting around 10:00 am). A lot of our members already have applications, but I will have more copies with me. The show requires 3 pictures (right front corner, left front corner and full rear view). I will have my camera to take pictures if you don't have any available, or we could set up a photo shoot day if needed. The completed applications with pictures must be back to me by December 1st. If I could get them in by the November meeting (November 17th), that would be even better. Entry fee for display only is $30.00, and for judging, the fee is $60.00. Move in for the large displays will begin Wednesday, March 1st from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Thursday March 2nd from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. All cars and displays must be set up and ready by 12:00 noon on Friday, March 3rd. These are the basics, so be sure to come to the Super Service Station on second Saturday, November 12th. See ya'll there Bob NobleWes Here!!!!!!!

Well it looks like winter is all most here. Daylight saving time is gone, So winter can't be far behind. With winter that means shop time for a lot of Hot Rods. For me first of Nov. means a trip to NASCAR racing in Phoenix AZ. Will be there for around 10 days. Will see four races. The NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series, Craftsman Trucks Series, NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Nextel Series. If you like racing its a great week-end. Should be back just in time for The Club meeting Nov. 17 2005 at The Countryman starting around 7:30 PM.

Shop time at Nobles working on Rand's El Camino for the last four weeks. Got it all put back together on Sunday Oct 30. Should be back on the road, with any luck, by next week-end. With a new used engine and lot of fresh paint under the hood. I'm sure Rand will be glad to have it back and running.

Bob Noble is working on a new shop in his front yard. Said Bob "Will have all my toys under cover real soon and not as much grass to cut". Sounds like a winning deal to me.
