APRIL 2005 FLYPAPER
Okay now,
This Club is on a roll! The
gatherings at the Service Station are coming off pretty Cool, juts Jim’s bad
luck that he seems to be on the road driving when we show up on the
2nd Saturdays! But
luckily his able group of mechanics keeps us inline most of the
time. At this last 2nd
Saturday, Mike Miller, dropped off a really cool Coors Light lighted basketball
sign. Way To Go Mike!!
New
member Gary Mulanix showed up with his latest ride he recently picked up, a
46-48(?) Ford with Flathead power, pretty cool. We had a pretty good turn out,
lets keep it up and maybe even start inviting others to drop by?
HMmmmmmmm
The Portland swap has come and gone, hope members looking for stuff found what they were looking for. Corvallis is this coming Sunday. It used to be a really nice swap meet.
Meeting
Notes:
Signed up another group of new
members in March, they are Gary and Shirley Mulanix, Jay Sorgen and Gary
Wolford. That brings us up to 52
members this year so far. That puts
us several ahead of last year at this time, But Remember; it’s quality not
quantity that makes a club. We need
people that want to have FUN, because that is what it is all about. Wes might have something to say about
that, but he is not writing this portion of the newsletter.
Larry Brown gave a report on upcoming cruises, etc. Newport Cruise 4/30 and Rickreal swap
meet 6/5 to name a few. Remember
you can check the web site or the Run book to see what else is going on.
Received a nice Thank You from the MHRC for assisting with security at
the PRS. Speaking of the PRS, it appears the theme for 2006 will be “BE A PART
OF HISTORY” Hey! That’s right up our tailpipe, we have a ton of members that
truly were part of the Hot Rodding History. I will have to rely on Wes, Bob,
Edd, Larry, Norm, Bro Bill, Al, James, Arnie, Glenn, Bruce, Phil, Bill S., Paul,
Mike, D.W. just to name a few that can say “Been There, Done That!” to
add more info. Now that group could really put on a clinic, say pick a specific
time frame and just Talk (BS) about things going on then. WOW, that would be
fun.

April's meeting will be on April 21
2005 at The Countryman starting around 7:30 pm. Starting to get LOTS
of show flyers, need to pick a monthly show as the club show of the
month. Also don't forget the Saturday morning get-to-gather at the
Silverton Super Service Station the second Saturday of the month around 10
am. YES in the morning. Also will have an officers meeting on the 19
of April at my place. 404 S. 2nd St starting around 7:30 pm.
Well it looks like the "56" just
may be ready for the big trip to the F-100 Nationals in TN. Its been a
two steps forward and three steps back kind of project. We
started the first of the year and with any kind of luck its looking like it
will ready for some shake down trips the next two
weeks.
Bob and I will be leaving
the first of May for Knoxville Tenn. to attend the F-100 Nationals. This
will be our third trip to this show and this year Bob and his "55" F-100 will
be celebrating 50 years of the 1955
Ford F-100. NOW!!!! A big "THANK YOU" to all “The Club"
members that gave me a helping hand with this truck project. With out your HELP this truck would be
without any test runs before going to Tenn. Special THANKS go to Norm at
Rods-N-Relics, Rand The-Wiring-Man and Old
Bill.
Reminder!!!!! Dues are due. Meeting April 21 at The Countryman.
And to you the members YOU are the ONES that make The Flywheels
