Christmas 2004 Flypaper  est.1961

November meeting notes:

Okay, we had a great meeting in Nov. didn’t accomplish much, but we had guests, signed up new members and generally had a good time.  Wes missed the Officers meeting, but the rest did too, so we held a short impromptu one at Pudge’s.  Yeah, I know.

Discussed the up coming car show at the Expo. About 6-8 club members went up and did security.

December Club outing will be on Dec 4th at Stayton.  Flyer was sent out before cruise.   X-Mas party on schedule, also a special flyer or e-mail sent out.

Jim Woods gave a short update on his Silverton Service Station.  More on page 2.

Larry Brown has already started collecting more Hot Wheel, etc. for the Hospital, so keep then Cars a coming.

Looks like we are doing another Car Show.  This one is in January and I will have more on that in a few paragraphs.

We started the nominations for the December meetings election of 2005 Officers.

If you do not have an entry form, Bob will have some at the Dec meeting.

Wes Here!!!!

First off would like to say THANK YOU to all the Club members that took time to help out with The Northwest Performance & Custom Car Show Sat. Nov. 20 and 21 2004.  It turned out to be a fun day and not to bad of a show.  Didn't start out real Good.  I locked my keys in the truck, second time the push button door locks got me. I'm use to OLD Fords that you got to lock the door with a KEY.  What happened to that "Better Idea from Ford" at least you could NOT lock you keys in the truck.   BUT old Bill and I found a way in even if it did set off the alarm.  Got "Better Idea" extra key. BUT!  Where to hide it?   Any ideas??

Well the year is about gone.  About the only thing left is The Club's Christmas Party Dec 11 2004 at The Countryman starting around 6 pm.  Hell! the party will be over by the time you read this.  Hope you made the party, I'm sure it was a  "GOOD TIME".   AND the last meeting of the year.   Which will be Dec. 16 2004 at The Countryman starting around 7:30 pm.  Also you-all will need to pick next years officers.

The year of 2004 has been a great year for "The Club” we just kept growing which is good.  The Club has over 70 of the BEST people I have ever met. Working hard putting on two of the best Car Show in the valley, sponsoring The Jon Dunn Scholarship fund and still has time to help out with local charity funds.  WHAT Makes The Silverton Flywheels Car Club "The Club”?  YOU, The hard working MEMBERS of this Club.  "Without you we would be just another car club."

I would like to say "THANK YOU” You are the best!!! Have a Great Christmas and a Happy New Year!                   Later Wes

A Real Garage Scene!

Jim Wood’s Silverton Super Service station is opening this coming weekend, November 11th.  I know that’s the day of the Christmas Party, but what better present for Jim than a group of members showing up in the morning and parking Club Cars down by the station for part of the day.  The lot between his station and Silverton VW Repair is available for parking Club Cars, etc.

He also would like anyone with some old car/club related pictures, etc. that would not mind loaning them to bring them by so he might be able to hang them on an empty wall for a nice display.  Kind of like a revolving display.  Might be able to get creative and get the word out on The Club to more people.

Other Garage Scene info:

Wes is drooling at the chance to tear his beloved 56 apart again.  Looking at a new seat, tranny, tilt wheel and some new wiring!  And all this before him and Bob head off to Tennessee, again.

Would write more if I knew of any projects, etc. that are going on within the Club.

People who ordered sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts, they should be here around the first of the month.
