Meeting Stuff:
Okay, here goes a short review of the meeting held on May 20th. Larry assisted in the absence of Wes in announcing fliers & runs in the near future. We were asked to assist with the purchase of entrant awards for the Brooks Car Museum show held in May. We purchased 5 fire extinguishers at $17.00 each. These were to go to each entrant.
The CCC Fathers Day Swap meet is in a week or so, Sunday June 20th. Norm Brown from Rods N Relics will grab the club 2 spaces for anyone to bring items to sell at. Club will pay the fee and we hope to see a group of members bring stuff or drop stuff off prior to the meet. Wes and Myself are willing to haul items over there, but we are not hauling your junk to just get rid of. We want to have a couple of booths filled with neat stuff and spread the word about the Club and how much Fun we have!!
The Club is going to be assisting the Car Museum at Brooks with their Brick program. T-Shirt issue was brought up again and the Officers will come up with some ideas and probably have a committee check into it for next year.
Carquest Auto Parts is again having a bus trip to Seattle for the NHRA Drags on July 24th & 25th. Spots are going fast and anyone not already signed up needs to check with Potters in Silverton. Same group and a few more are going again this year!! WOHO, lots of FUN!!
A couple of old and new members joined in May, we are at 54 paid members so far for 2004!! NEAT!!
HOMER SHOW Update:
Larry has the Raffle going already for the Show, we will again give him $100.00 to purchase prizes. Remember at Homers we don’t sell raffle tickets, each entrant get 1 ticket. Parking, Registration, Dash Plaques & Trophy’s are all in the works.
HAT’S ARE HERE!!! I WILL HAVE THEM AT THE MEETING!! $8.00 each
Wes's Corner:::
I'm back if anyone really cares. We had another great trip to The F-100 Nationals. This year the show was in Knoxville TN. They had it at the city park. All the trucks were parked on the grass. Real nice park lots of grass, had around 1000 F-100's and lots of room for more. Had 30+ trucks in the tour from CA. to TM.
Stopped at a Ford dealer for lunch (FREE) lunch that is every day. First day lunch was at the Ford's Proving grounds in AZ. and a tour. Real good time there. You would not believe WHAT they put them cars and trucks through. Seen some 05 and 06 cars and trucks. Also two new SVT Ford GT-40's. When they are done testing them the go to the crusher.
Also got couple laps around there test track. NO!! not in the "56" but a Ford van. Also got to tour two of McLaren Performance's Shops. Can't tell what we saw there or Bob and I will be shot.
Bob and I spent a half of a day at the Henry Ford Museum this is a MUST SEE if you are ever in the area. I've seen it four time and there is always something new to see. Making plans for next years trip. Let us know if you want to tag along. BUT! if your running a G.M. one wire Alternator take a SPARE and a little extra gas money
June's meeting is on the 17 around 7:30 pm at The Countryman on Mill St. Need to start getting Homer Show off the ground. See you-all there. Later Wes
