SPECIAL DECEMBER 2003
NEWSLETTER
Flash Traffic:
The Flywheels Car Club is through for the year! Enough of this 2003 . Lets get on with 2004 and try to top 2003 with even more FUN, RUNS, etc.!! But first, lets all try to make the Dec. 18th meeting.Okay, here we go for the last time this year! This Club as a whole did some great things this year. We went to the Portland Roadster Show in force. And I hear we’re doing it again. WOW. The B-B-Q at Bob’s was its’ usual great time. The Homer Show was unreal, 146 CARS!! Now that will be hard to beat. MaCleay was a little down, but we had an excellent auction. Had 53 members and their wives with us in 2003. Hope that most of them come back in 2004. 2 new members have already joined for 2004. This is way too cool !!
November meeting notes:
30 members present, several guests, new members and another busy night for Wes. Special note about one of original members from 1961, Colin Turner in central Oregon has had some heart problems and Wes had a card for all to sign.
Wes picked up more car plaques and handed a few out. 2004 Calendar Books available from Wes. Dates for the Macleay show were not changed in time for the original printing, but will be on an update page.
Wes mentioned that the City has started on the Pool project so we will see how our parking area works this summer. Roadster Show info out and Bob Noble is taking entry forms and has extra for those interested. Frank McNatt is handling the sign-up for security again this year. We will have the sign-up sheet at the December meeting. Larry Brown is working on display ideas, the MHRC does not have a theme set yet for the show.
Club voted on getting another banner for displaying at runs, etc. This one will be two-sided with both runs listed.
X-MAS Party coming soon as on the 20th of the month!! Talked about sending post cards to past participants of club runs, etc. more on that at the December meeting. We also are looking at getting the club web site up and running again. Initial ideas from Bob McGowan look cool and the price is right. More info at the Meeting.

MAN!!! Another newsletter seems like I just did one. BUT it also seems like the year 2003 just started BUT its about gone. Sure don't take long when you are having fun and retired. Was another good year for The Flywheels. Lots of fun outings, picked up more new members, put on two very good show, Homer and Macleay and did a Club display at this years Portland Roadster plus supplied people to help with The Roadster Show. NO wonder this year went by so damn fast its been a busy year. Now we got to get ready for another year.. Need to elect new officers during our December 18th meeting. We tried last month, but need to do it for real in December. We have to have a election to make SURE the officers really want the job. I am not in favor of reappointing officers and the by-laws say we have to have a election, So come prepared. Also may have another show for next year. I will try to keep the meeting in order for at least a little bit.
Well enough about that. I would like to take time to wish you and your family a
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. Later Wes
P.S. Hope to see you-all at the Meeting Dec 18th & the Christmas party Dec. 20 2003.
